Game Recap
Panthers move to 7-2-1 on the season with a 3-1 win on the road at Catholic Central.

Following a hard fought double overtime conference win last evening, the Panthers battled fatigue and focus issues to surge ahead in the second half to secure the victory.

After a 1-1 first half score, the Panthers went up 2-1 as senior Collin Place found fellow senior Christian Heath streaking through the CC defense. Heath took the nice through ball and raced towards the CC goal, placing the ball beautifully just inside the right post.

A few moments later, Collin Place found the back of the net from about 25 yards out. It was Heath who tracked down a ball on the left wing, opened up to the middle and found another senior, Noah Becker at the top of the penalty box. Becker turned and dropped the ball back to Place who fired the ball past the diving CC goalkeeper.

The Panthers went up 1-0 midway through the first half when Senior Steven Camling hammered in his 17th goal of the season. Catholic Central got on the scoreboard with under 10 minutes to play in the half after the Panthers failed to clear the ball.

CP hits the road once again Saturday morning for a game at Tri-County before returning home Tuesday, September 24th against Sparta. JV will start at 5:00pm with Varsity starting around 6:45pm.

Panthers News · Comstock Park High School Tennis Varsity Boys falls to West Catholic High School 2-6

Game Recap
This match involved wo teams that both went to the state finals after tieing for 1st at last years' regional. Both finished in the top 6 with CP as State Runner up. This match was much closer than the score of 2-6 as 5 of the 8 flights went to 3 sets. I am really pleased with the way that our boys from CP played. Each point, game, and match were battled. The experience that West Catholic brought back by losing fewer players to graduation (CP lost 9 of 12) may have been the only edge needed for such a great match-up.
