Game Recap

Comstock Park opened the 2017 OK Blue season with a 42-27 over the visiting Coopersville Broncos. A slow start by the Panthers led to Coopersville jumping out to a 14-0 second quarter lead before CP came storming back to score the next 35 points to secure the Panthers third win this season. Jo Jo Whitley led the rushing attack again, rushing for a game high 153 yards on 19 carries along with 3 touchdowns. Quarterback Chase Brown threw for 262 yards and 2 TD’s to add the balanced offensive attack of the Panthers that totaled 494 yards after the slow start. Logan Serba hauled in a second quarter touchdown pass for the third straight game, Hunter Spence added a TD catch of his own along with a rushing touchdown. Chanse Crittendon added a team high 4 catches on the night. Roshawn Williams, Aaron Place each applied pressure on the Coopersville QB during the night to aid the Panther defense , Brett Taylor once again the Panther defense in tackles as he continues his solid play on both sides of the ball. Sophomores Cam and Quinton Martin each gave the Panthers a spark during the second half surge with their running and pass catching that helped CP gain the lead in the game. CP hits the road this Friday, traveling to Allendale to take on the always tough Falcons who return several outstanding players OK Blue co-championship 2016 team.
