Game Recap

The Panthers of CP opened the 2017 home season with a 36-14 win over the visiting Wyoming Wolves moving their record to 2-0 on the young season. Wyoming jumped out to an early 8-0 lead, scoring on the second play of the game, that was all the scoring the Panther defense would allow until late in the game. CP shut down the powerful running game of Wyoming and its T-Formation. The defense was lead by senior linebackers Brett Taylor, Nick Brill along with seniors Aaron Place and Nathan Hughes on the defensive front line. Sophomores Kevin Pritula and Colby Brown also contributed heavily to the effort. QB Chase Brown connected with WR Logan Serba for a first quarter touchdown pass to get the Panthers on the scoreboard and then turned to the running game and senior JoJo Whitley as the Panthers took a 20-7 halftime lead . Whitley added 2 touchdowns in the third quarter as the Panthers salted away the home opening win. CP plays host to the Coopersville Broncos next Friday in the OK Blue league opener.
