RE: Head Football Position
This communication is intended to announce that Mr. Mark Chapman, Comstock Park High School Football Coach for the past 6 seasons, has resigned his position with Comstock Park High School effective January 28, 2016. Mr. Chapman has accepted the varsity football position at Sparta Area Schools.
“Comstock Park is an amazing place filled with great people. We had a great run the last six years and I have nothing but positive things to say about CP,” said Mr. Chapman.
He added, “The final decision came down to my connections to Sparta: I have spent most of my life there, kids grew up there and my daughter is graduating there this year. I also have the chance to coach with one of my best friends and former head coach at Sparta Steve Zurek. All these connections made Sparta the right choice for me and I’m excited for this new opportunity.”
CPHS Principal Steve Gough has stated that the process has already begun to select the new coach of the Panthers to ensure the continued success of our program.
“Mark and his staff have done good work for Comstock Park and, although we are certainly disappointed to see him go, we wish him all the best,” stated Mr. Gough.
Coach Chapman helped guide the Panthers to the state playoffs the past six years and one OK-Blue league championship. The varsity football coaching position will be posted February 1st. More information on the position will be available at www.applitrack.com/kent/onlineapp.
